This is DE LA MORA’s Signature Court Interpreter Program to help prepare Vietnamese speakers to become state certified. This comprehensive course will go over the Weightlifting Methods© which is a set of rules for better practice and self-evaluation or the key aspects needed to improve interpreting performance. As well as an overview of the judicial system, key terminology, introduction to the three modes of interpretation and language specific practice with a Vietnamese instructor.
This is a Live online course meaning students will be able to interact with the instructor and peers in an online environment via user-friendly software. Our live Online platform can be accessed through laptops, computers, cellphones, iPads and/or Android tablets. Also, all class sessions will be recorded and made available for review or study purposes within 24 hours.
Haven’t taken an online class before? Don’t worry! A separate orientation will take place to make sure everyone is comfortable accessing and using the technology. Students also have the full support of our staff to answer questions and be a helping hand.

About Instructors
Quỳnh N Gibney
Quynh Gibney, a California Court Certified Vietnamese interpreter, worked as a translator and interpreter in Vietnam for six years before she immigrated to the United States in 2004. She was born and raised in Saigon, the famous capital city of South Vietnam before the Vietnam war ended on April 30th 1975. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in English Literature at the University of Hochiminh City, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Quynh Gibney voluntered to work as an interpreter for the Red Cross in 2000 and for the 22nd SouthEast Asian (SEA) Games; a multi-sport event held in Vietnam in 2003.
With a background of linguistic education and experience of interpreter work in Vietnam and as an immigrant herself in the United States since 2004, Quynh Gibney understands the difficulty of being able to communicate in oder to assimilate to a new life and a new culture in the United States. After hours of self-study, Quynh Gibney become a Court Certified interpreter and is currently working as a contractor for the Superior Courts and Federal District Courts. Currently she continues working in both the public and private sectors.
Beatriz Craney is an AOC-approved interpreter with over 10 years of experience. Her professional fields of expertise include conferences, legal, medical, education and business. In 2008, Beatriz started her own agency: Craney Interpreting Services. Beatriz also teaches Judicial Consecutive Interpreting at Brookdale Community College. Since 2014 Beatriz has worked for DE LA MORA Interpreter Training by hosting and organizing seminars, boot camps, and skill-building events, and she is now an instructor for the Live Online School.
